Tim Laporte
Executive coach and thinking partner who gets into the trenches with leaders.
Tim sits at the integration point, combining over 20 years of coaching practice with business advisory, so clients experience one partnership, not three separate advisers.
Tim Laporte
Tim takes senior executives and their teams on a journey to become genuinely accomplished leaders - helping them make meaning of complex situations and build the compelling stories that bring their people with them.
Under his guidance, leaders learn to see their organisation as a living system and focus on the few leverage points that actually move it, against the real expectations of shareholders, boards, media and markets.
His experience is unusually broad - architecture, communications, consulting, construction, engineering, finance, health, hospitality, logistics, manufacturing and services, across France and Australia. For more than 15 years he ran businesses built on acquisition and fast growth, as well as divisions of large listed companies, so he knows the pressures from the inside.
As co-founder of Leadership Partners, his real passion is being a ‘thinking partner’: reading the web of stakeholders, naming the politics in play, and finding the leverage points that let leaders deliver on strategy and return. His gift is going into the trenches with clients and building the self-awareness that complexity and ambiguity demand. He partners with Sandra in LP’s duo-coaching format - two sensibilities, one conversation.
He advises boards, coaches executives and teams, and facilitates workshops for organisations including BDO, CBA, HDR, ICAP, Leighton Holdings, NSW Health, Strategy&, Veolia and Westpac. He was Adjunct Faculty and Program Director at AGSM (UNSW) across Change Management, Leadership Development, High Performing Teams and Organisational Politics.
For ten years he chaired the not-for-profit Prisoners’ Aid, working to reduce recidivism. He now chairs the board of Confit Pathways, a registered charity whose mentors, all with lived experience of the justice system, work with incarcerated and at-risk young people through fitness and mentoring. He also runs strategy and leadership workshops for the not-for-profit sector.
